Ray's Pub
About This Spot
Stepping into Ray’s Pub, you’re welcomed by a genuine neighborhood vibe that blends the spirited buzz of a sports bar with the laid-back charm of a local gathering spot. The energy here is warm and unpretentious — a place where familiarity settles in easily, whether you’re nursing a drink at the bar or settling into a booth with friends. It’s the kind of spot where the pace feels just right: lively enough to keep the mood upbeat, yet relaxed enough to encourage genuine conversations and shared moments.
The atmosphere is unmistakably inviting, marked by the casual hum of camaraderie and the glow of well-loved memories in the making. It’s a place that balances the excitement of catching the game with the comfort of good company and a thoughtfully curated drink menu. The cocktails here don’t shout for attention but instead invite you to savor: a refreshing margarita, a smooth Long Island iced tea, or something with a splash of cranberry vodka. Each sip feels like a quiet nod to the joy of unwinding without pretension.
Beyond the drinks, the food serves as a perfect counterpart — comforting, satisfying, and ideal for sharing. The kitchen offers bites that feel hearty and approachable, like the warm, cheesy allure of chili cheese fries or the thoughtfully paired marinara with creamy goat cheese. Together, these flavors complement the easygoing spirit of the space, enhancing the kind of relaxed evening that turns first-timers into regulars.
It’s clear why locals appreciate Ray’s Pub as a cornerstone in Highland Square, especially those seeking a balanced blend of spirited atmosphere and genuine hospitality. The bartenders and kitchen staff contribute to a consistently welcoming experience, making it easy to feel at home as laughter mixes with the clink of glasses. Whether you’re catching the latest game, grabbing a quick bite with friends, or lingering over a well-crafted cocktail, Ray’s offers a quietly memorable slice of Akron life.

Every meal I've had has always been delicious. I had potato skins and a few daiquiri's, tried the grand Margarita from the happy hour menu.(this is about Rockne's) made a mistake on location. I do however enjoy a cold bud light at Ray's though!!

What a great place. Menu is very diverse, and the tap list is to die for. Coming back tomorrow for lunch before we head home to Cincy

After Annabelle's closed it is the best bar in Highland square. Great atmosphere and drink are not expensive.
